Hi Everyone,

Here are some key things that are happening in your club at the moment:

1. Jeep Australia

Jeep Australia have asked me to let you know that they are offering a 15% discount code on Jeep Merchandise purchased through their web site: https://shop.jeep.com.au/index.asp

They have also sent us a copy of the pictures which they took at Muster. You can view them by selecting About on our home page and then Photo Albums. They were posted on 18th May and there are some really great photos.

2. Photo Competition

A reminder that voting for the photo competition will close on Wednesday 25th May and the winners will be announced at the Members Meeting on Tuesday 31st May 2022. If you haven't already voted please have your say. You can do this by logging onto our Clubexpress system and selecting the About option from the top dialogue box on the Home page and then selecting the Photo Albums option. Two albums were created on the 4th May, 2022 containing the nominated pictures. There is the Photo Comp Portrait Album for our Mobile App and the Photo Comp Landscape Album for our Virtual Membership Card. Please choose your three favourite photos in the two categories and then let us know via the survey. You can get to the survey in Clubexpress by selecting the Members option from the top dialogue Box on the Home Page and then selecting the Surveys option.

3. Trip Leader Quarterly Presentation

Our trip Leaders are essential to the success of our club and we wanted to find a way of publically recognising their significant contribution. And so in addition to the annual trophy which is presented at our AGM each year the Committee has decided to present a prize at the end of each season. The inaugural prize will be presented at our next Members meeting on Tuesday 31st May.

4. Raffle to Raise Money for Narbeview Wildlife Shelter

Jeremy Olney has built and donated a clone Stihl MS361 (59cc) Chain saw to Narbeview. The chainsaw along with all the components you need to get started is being raffled on the 11th June and all proceeds will be directed towards the purchase of Mange Treatment Rooms. From this weekend tickets can be purchased at the MJOC Shop. Please help if able.

5.New Winter Merch

The MJOC Shop has introduced a great new range of Winter Merchandise. Leanne will have a sample of the full range at our next Members meeting. So please come along to the meeting and have a look at these great new offerings.

6. Notion to Classify the Mirboo North and Strathbogie Ranges into Immediate Protection Areas

FWDV has advised us that there is a notion to classify the Mirboo North and Strathbogie Ranges into immediate protection areas. They have been given the opportunity to comment on this via a face to face meeting and also via email. The relevant link is https://engage.vic.gov.au/futureforests FWDV will be placing all relevant information on their web site.

7. Guest Speakers

We are planning to reintroduce guest speakers at our monthly Members meetings. If you know of someone who would be interested in coming along and sharing their knowledge please let me know.

8. Our Next Members Meeting:

Our next Members Meeting will be held at 7:30pm on Tuesday 31st May. This will be held at our normal location, Monash Halls at 21A Electra Avenue in Ashwood and also via Zoom . The Zoom invitation will be sent out closer to the event. The meeting will include a presentation for the Trip Leader of the Season, announcement of the photo competition winners, trip reports for events held over the past month and updates from your Committee Members. With the easing of COVID restrictions we are now permitted to return to our preferred format with up to 100 people in the hall with free pizza and soft drinks available from 7:00pm. There will be door prizes and much more. If you are able to come and join us it would be great to see you again.

Finally we are always looking for new ideas for trips and events please let me know your suggestions.
