Thinking of becoming a Trip Leader?
This is the process our MJOC Trip Leaders go through to become a Trip Leader
The MJOC Trip Leader training program ensures our MJOC 4WD Trips are run by members who have a competency in managing likely scenarios that might occur on a club trip. During the Trip Leader training participants are assessed in their ability to plan a recce and a trip, communicate effectively, manage a convoy, safely manage vehicle recoveries including winching, and other skills as required by our experienced trainers.

The course includes theory session/s and 2 days of practical training in the bush. The process requires completion of the following program;
- Successfully Complete the MJOC Proficiency Driver Training
- Successfully complete the MJOC Advanced Driver Training Course to demonstrate appropriate knowledge experience and skills in advanced vehicle recovery methods and driving ability and experience
- Successfully complete MJOC Trip Leader Training Course.
- Plan and run a successful recce with a Trip Leader Mentor
- Plan and run a number of successful trips with Trip Leader Mentor until competent.
- Successful completion (including mentor assessment) of an MJOC Moderate Grade trip within 6 months of the date of the Trip Leader Training Course.
