MJOC Training Team Needs Team Members

The MJOC Training Team is in need of New Members

Our Training Team is in need of some enthusiastic and experienced members who have a desire to be involved in our training team.

You may already have some of knowledge or the skills needed or are willing to learn the syllabus that we teach and be able to effectively communicate that knowledge.

Our current team have been doing the training for many years and it is time to have a new generation working through to become instructors.

Think you might want to get involved? Let us know.

The Framework for the Driver Training Unit

The team consists of the following team members.

Lead Instructor

Instructor

Trainer

The training programme includes
4WD Proficiency
Advanced Skills and Winching
Winch Training Day
Trip Leader Training

How does this work?

Lead Instructor

A Lead Instructor is able to run a whole course and manage the format from start to finish.

They can manage and present the theory content.

They can effectively manage and operate the practical components

They are able to work with other Instructors and Trainers as required.

Instructor

An Instructor is a member who can competently present the theory and practical components.

They can work with a Lead Instructor and with Trainers in assisting with the learning and run different components without assistance. With some guidance and experience they will eventually be a Lead Instructor

Trainer

This is where you start off. Trainers are experienced members who wish to assist the Instructors in running and managing the training. They work with the Instructors and eventually start to present and teach both Theory and Practical components. They are able to contribute but are not yet able run a theory or practical course on their own. They are encouraged to work up to being an Instructor and or a Lead Instructor

Instructors and Trainers should preferably be MJOC Trip Leaders, have completed the MJOC Advanced Training course and demonstrated a high level of 4wd skills and knowledge or completed other Instructor training as approved by the DTU officer or MJOC Committee.

Other 4WD Instructor training criteria can include members with

Cert IV TAE40116 Accreditation in any of the 4WD or related  Units

Other Cert1V or TAFE qualifications that may be suitable

Four Wheel Drive Victoria or other Club Instructor,

Military or other similar Instructor.

Instructors can also consider becoming a Four Wheel Drive Victoria Club Instructor by completing the FWDV Instructor programme or going even further and becoming qualified  as anAccredited Instructor by joining the FWDV Instructor programme and doing the TAE qualification course. Discuss this with the Training Officer.
