Four Wheel Drive Victoria has also developed and maintains excellent and ongoing relations with the state's land managers and plays an active part in ensuring that tracks are accessible and used in a way that minimizes any negative impact from four wheel drive use.
Four Wheel Drive Victoria is the governing body for affiliated four wheel drive clubs in Victoria, and represents the interests of all recreational four wheel drivers in the state. It is presently made up of over 80 affiliated clubs which in turn have a membership totaling over 23,000 members representing four wheel drive enthusiasts and their families.
Each affiliated club is invited to have a say in how the Association operates through regular meetings, contact with the elected board, or assisting on the various supporting sub committees.
Operating from a staffed office in Mitcham, we represent almost every active four wheel drive club in Victoria and the number of clubs is growing constantly.
Four Wheel Drive Victoria continues to develop strong relationships with the government and its land managers and has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the State Government, Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) to ensure effective consultation and involvement in track access and maintenance issues. This has created a much stronger working relationship with land managers and rangers.
Victoria is now officially recognised as the Premier Four Wheel Drive State with the creation of the Minister's Victorian 4WD Strategy which lays down key strategies and funding for land managers and Four Wheel Drive Victoria to build stronger partnerships, provide a better 4WD experience, effective education, with strategic marketing and communications and sustainable solutions.
